Two sauces. Same lekker attitude. Pick your level of trouble.
Say it out loud..."JOU MA SE" Then put it on everything, alles.
So what does "Jou Ma Se" mean?
It's South African slang — cheeky, affectionate, and not quite polite. Roughly the tone of shouting "your mother's peri peri!" across a braai. If you know, you know. If you don't, you'll work it out on the first mouthful of the Hot.
Peri peri is Southern Africa's house sauce — the thing that goes on the chicken, the chips, the eggs, the leftovers. Over here yin NL you get two options: sweet red stuff with a chilli on the label, or something engineered purely to hurt you. Neither one tastes of anything.
So, Jou Ma Se offers this. Proper heat, but you can still taste the food underneath it. Same sauce, two strengths, so nobody at the table has to be a hero.
Which one?
